Tassel Tutorial

Have you ever wondered how to make tassels?  Well, I'm going to show you how!

 Step 1: wrap your yarn the desired amount of times around a piece of cardboard.  I wanted my tassles about the length of a credit card width so I used a gift card holder.

 Step 2: once you have the desired amount of wraps ( I used 20 here) pull a piece of yarn under all the wraps at your top

Step 3: tie the yarn you pulled under your wraps

 This is what you should have right now.

Step 4: cut your bottom (opposite where you just tied)

This is what you should have now.

Step 5: tie another piece of yarn a little bit below the top so you form a small ball.

 Step 6: trim you ends even.

Tada!  You made a tassel!

I-Cord Bonnet Pattern Release!!!!

Okay guys, I am more than excited to finally be starting to release patterns!  Here is my first big one... the I-Cord Bonnet!

This bonnet design was inspired by my vacation to Amish country. I wanted to capture the beauty in simplicity. Add a very soft yarn to the lovely design and you have perfection for the special little one in your life. (I know my new baby will be using one this fall :)

This would be an amazing newborn photo prop as well! It is great for boys and girls.

The sizes you will receive in this pattern are:
newborn
0-3mth
3-6mth
6-12mth
1-3yrs

Of course, if you're looking for a finished product I have that too!  I'll be making and selling the finished product in my etsy shop on a regular basis.  I will be trying to make them in a variety of fibers and textures so you have lots to choose from.

If you know my shop at all you know I prefer to have a lot of ready to ship to choose from.  I'm a busy mommy so I tend to not offer as much made to order as some shops but as you know, I still do it!  I love custom orders so don't be afraid to ask!

Knit Wear For My New Little One!

I figured I'd share projects I've made for my own kiddos here so I don't clog up your facebook feeds.  Below is my first outfit for #4!  The hat is a pattern by Melody's Makings (She's really talented!  Check her out here for more gorgeous patterns!).  I made the jumper to match.  It isn't perfect but it will keep our girly-q warm.  I definitely have some kinks to work out but she'll still look too stinkin' cute in it!

All I can think when I see this is how cute it would be in red and white like a candy cane!  Might have to make one for her newborn photos and use a pretty pointsetta as embellishment.
